InkPoster wasn't created by a company entering the ePaper market for the first time. It was developed by PocketBook, a Swiss manufacturer that has spent nearly two decades, from 2007, developing ePaper devices used by readers and creators around the world. That experience shaped every stage of the project – from hardware and software to understanding how digital art with a paper soul should look on screen.

The original idea came from something much simpler: a shared appreciation for vintage travel posters and the desire to enjoy them without overloading walls with too many paper art pieces. Combining that passion with years of engineering expertise led to something entirely new: an ePaper art frame designed by people who already knew digital paper better than almost anyone else.

Rendering That Makes a Difference

One of the details that distinguishes InkPoster is the way every image is prepared before it reaches the display. InkPoster uses a dedicated rendering process designed specifically for ePaper, helping each image achieve balanced brightness, contrast, and tonal depth while preserving the character of the original artwork.

The E Ink Spectra 6 display itself offers up to 60,000 colors, a contrast ratio of up to 30:1, and a nearly 180-degree viewing angle. The rendering system works with these capabilities to optimize the presentation of both curated gallery artworks and user-uploaded images. The result is a more natural, print-like appearance that feels carefully adapted to the strengths of ePaper.
